Social Networking
So, I am on exercise 8 and i have both a facebook and a myspace account. I use my accounts to keep up with old friends and to connect with friends i dont see often. We post pictures and blogs to share what is new and exciting. Both my accounts are private. but, if you ask, I may just let you be my friend! :)
Wiki's-#7
Today I re-explored wiki's...I worked on this exercise a few weeks ago and found some interesting information on the uncyclopedia site. you really can learn about all sorts of different things...however, in my personally opinion, most are not true :) Wikihow gives great details on how to do all sorts of things from Halloween costumes to kissing...Well, with the holidays coming, I decided to look up Rock Band on wikia. I didnt learn a whole lot of new things, but it would be a nice place to start research.

A Visitor For Bear
Today I tackled Exercise 6...I listened to NPR: Children's Literature with Daniel Pinkwater on NPR...very neat to hear just what you want to hear instead of the whole program...and it does drive me crazy when I miss the one part of the hour show i want to hear! In this podcast, Daniel Pinkwater reads A Visitor For Bear by Bonny Becker...they also describe the illustrations. Very enlightening! It would be good to subscribe to this podcast to hear new books for storytime!
I started the Overdrive portion too. I have downloaded e books on here before, but it was a nice refresher! I have not downloaded again yet, but hope to complete it soon...stay tuned!!

Interesting...
Well, i worked on Exercise 5 today and think I may enjoy these RSSs feeds...I set up four and will keep checking them today to see how well I like them...it is kinda different because i do like the pictures and things on the original websites and they change color when you have viewed that link...i will check and see if this is something that i will use frequently. It is nice, however, to know now how that orange icon works and what it entails!
Well, today I went back and the stories on my RSS feeds were the same as yesterday. It took a bit of clicking and reading, but i figured out refresh works :) now i have new data on my feeds. I am not quite sure how much I like it, but i will give it some time to see if it grows on me!

Mashups
Today we are kinda quiet here in Brunswick so I am working on these activities and I am onto Mashups. I entered and didnt get any good results. For those of you who don't know, letterboxing is like geocaching without a GPS unit. You follow clues and use a compass. So, I tried again with geocaching and got this interesting site:
http://ochre.wordpress.com/2007/04/23/geocaching-mapping-made-easyier/
It actually helps you use geocaching coordinates on Google maps...interesting!
